Tilt or Touch? Settling the Mobile Racing Debate
Every mobile racer asks the same question at startup: tilt or touch? I've flip-flopped for years, so I spent a week running the same Neon Driftline tracks on both to see which actually won.
Tilt feels more immersive. Leaning the phone into a drift is genuinely satisfying, and for arcade racers it suits the vibe. The downside is precision — micro-corrections are harder, and you can't play lying down without chaos.
Touch controls are the safer bet for tricky tracks. Buttons give you exact input, and your lap times are usually more consistent. The trade-off is that it feels a little more mechanical, a little less like driving.
My verdict, for what it's worth: tilt for fun runs, touch for chasing records. The good news is Neon Driftline lets you switch freely, so you don't have to commit. Try both across a few laps before you decide.
