About

Maple Play started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping screenshots of whatever we were stuck on. At some point we realized we were writing paragraphs to each other anyway, so we put them somewhere public. That's the whole origin story — no boardroom, no launch plan.,The people behind the site are a small editorial team, not a studio and not a marketing shop. We buy or download the games ourselves, put in the hours, and only publish once someone has actually reached the mid-game where mobile titles either shine or fall apart.,We pick games for a mix of reasons: something is topping the charts and we want to know if it deserves it, a reader tips us off, or one of us simply can't stop playing and needs to explain why. Genre doesn't matter much to us — a clever tower defense gets the same attention as a cozy farming sim.,Everything you read here is subjective by design. We'd rather tell you what a game feels like after a long session than hand you a spec sheet. If we didn't enjoy something, we'll say so plainly.

Lukas Brenner — Lukas has been reviewing games since flip phones ran Snake and still keeps a spreadsheet of every title he finishes. He handles most of the strategy and RPG coverage.
