Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga is the kind of mobile RPG that respects your time without watering itself down. Combat is turn-based, but positioning matters — a mage in the wrong row gets flattened — so battles ask for actual thought rather than autopilot. I found myself planning three turns ahead by the second chapter.
The writing is the standout. The four core companions bicker, apologize, and grow on you, and a couple of late-game conversations genuinely landed. Progression is generous with skill points, letting you rebuild a character's role without grinding for hours.
My only gripe is the occasional difficulty spike right after a story beat. Keep a spare healing setup ready and you'll be fine. This is easily one of the more complete RPG experiences I've had on a phone this year.
